Newsflash:

FRANCE DEPORTS ISLAMIC RADICALS.

world_news_frenchFrench Interior Ministry announced that it has deported two muslims and plans to expel more in a crackdown after the killing of seven Jewish people by a suspected extremist. A statement by Interior Minister Claude Gueant said the moves were part of “an acceleration of the deportation procedures of foreign Islamic radicals.”

An Islamic militant from Algeria who was involved in the 1994 attacks in Marrakech, Morocco, was sent to his home country, the statement said. In addition, a Malian Imam was returned to his home country for sermons promoting anti-Semitism and rejection of the

West, he said. Deportation proceedings have also started or are planned against three others: They are an Imam of Saudi nationality, a militant Islamist from Tunisia and another Imam from Turkey, the statement said. According to the statement, other expulsions will occur soon.

Earlier, the French President, Nicolas Sarkozy told the French radio that 19 people had been arrested in a series of police raids on suspected islamists. The raid came after gunman Mohammed Merah, who killed seven people, was shot dead after a long siege in the southwestern city of Toulouse.

Sarkozy, who is running for re-election, said the raids were intended to “deny the entry of certain people to France” who do not share the country’s values. It’s not just linked to Toulouse. It’s all over the country. It’s in connection with a form of radical Islam, and it’s in agreement with the law,” he said.

FLIGHT ATTENDANT HELP FIRST-TIME MOM GIVE BIRTH ON DELTA FLIGHT FROM GHANA.

Katherine Oyedoh, 27, was 37-weeks pregnant with her first child when she boarded her Georgia-bound Delta flight in Ghana. With her due date nearing, her doctor gave her clearance to fly from her family’s African home back to California to reunite with her fiancé in time for the birth. But mid-flight, her water broke.

Susan Carnes, a flight attendant with 29 years of experience, said it was the first in-air labour she’d witnessed. “I know nothing about birthing babies,” Carnes chuckled while recounting the story to The Tampa Tribune. “I’ve never had to do this before.” “I saw her and just the way she was leaned over and moaning, I just knew,” Carnes told Fox News . “I said, do you feel like your water has broken and she said, yes, and that’s when I knew, okay we are having a baby.”

Fortunately, Dr. Patrick Ojukwu, an OB/GYN from Stockbridge, Georgia, was on-board the plane and assisted in the birth. Other passengers with medical training also helped out, sterilizing makeshift tools with vodka. A vodka-soaked shoelace was used to cut the umbilical cord. “She was scared and in a public place having a baby with 200 people, but she was good and she was strong,” Carnes said.

The airplane’s passengers burst into cheers and applause when Carnes lifted up the newest passenger, bundled in thick paper towels and newspapers: “It’s a boy!” Oyedoh named her son Ebosalume, meaning “what God has done for me.”The plane diverted, landing in Dakar, Senegal. Oyedoh and her baby were taken to a nearby hospital. The mother and son will fly to California where little Ebosalume will meet his father, Greg Idoni, for the first time.
