Newsflash:

He Can't Leave Me

eagerness

One day the disciples of Jesus were traveling in a boat with Him, but suddenly a tempest arose and continued to the point of almost capsizing the boat. They became so afraid for their lives that they felt abandoned and yelled, “Master, don’t you care if we drown?” - Mark. 4:35-39

Often when going through hardships in life, we as human beings, feel and sometime say that God has left us alone; but I am here to reassure you today that God has not left nor can He leave you.

Sometimes we say that even Jesus said, "Eloi, Eloi, lama sabachtani" - meaning My God, My God, why has thou forsaken me" - (Mark 15:34). Well, I'd like you to know that His words may have come out like that and He may have felt like that as a person in flesh, but really the Father did not leave Him and could not have done so.

Listen to what Jesus said in John 8:29, He said, "my Father has not left me because I always do what pleases Him." Ladies and gentlemen, on the cross, Jesus was doing exactly what pleased God; Therefore He couldn't have left His son.

Listen to what Paul said in Romans 8:31-39, saying "... Nothing shall separate us from the love of God ..." In fact this is made clear by his first couple of statements which begins from verse 18-30. Those verses state that everybody groans during the time of suffering, even believers (vs. 23). Yes, during hardship, believers also groan and oftentimes not knowing what to say or pray for, but glory be to God, the spirit of God who lives in us knows what to pray for (26-28), no wonder a few minutes later Jesus said, "Father, unto your hands I commit My Spirit." Can you now see that God could not have left Him? If He did, how could Jesus have committed His spirit into the hands of the God who had forsaken Him?

Brothers and Sisters, God has not left you, no matter what you are feeling right now. Listen, everything is still going to work together for your good, because you love God (vs. 28).
We often say God left Jesus for a minute because of the sins of the world that He was carrying, but take a close look at the situation and you will see that Jesus was doing exactly the purpose of God - to carry and die for the sin of mankind - therefore He was not forsaken for a minute. Jesus was carrying out the agreement He had with the Father when He said, "Here I am, send me" - (Isaiah 6:8).

Conclusion: God has neither left nor will He ever leave you. So long as you have Christ in you as your hope of glory, you are not forsaken. You will overcome at last. God has promised that He will never leave nor forsake you (John 14:18), please bear this in mind. May the Lord uphold us all, amen.
